Ed Sheeran (3) - Week #26

Yesterday, I was out in Montreal celebrating 350 years of the city, so my other blog's post will be out later. I did this one first since more people look at this one than the other one.

Today is Canada's 150th birthday, so happy birthday Canada! And also, happy 4th of July to almost all my viewers who live in the USA. There was a special edition of the countdown this week because of that.

Comments on debuts:
Crying In The Club is better than any Fifth Harmony song, although it seems that few other people feel this way. I like Camila Cabello's voice in here and the production is amazing! The beat is really catchy.

Calvin Harris does much better in Feels than he does in Slide. The tropical feel he tries to express is much better done here than in Slide. Katy Perry's voice is much better here than in her most recent songs (and all her other ones for that matter). Pharrell sounds amazing in the verses. Last week I couldn't really form an opinion on this song because I hadn't listened to it more than once.

Don't Be Afraid To Catch Blurbs
I will start things off by saying yes, I'm The One is not in orange. DJ Khaled just released Wild Thoughts, with Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, and I explained that that song is absolute trash. That song is so bad that is made I'm The One look like a masterpiece next to it. I can actually see how I'm The One has a beat to it. However, it still is awful. But not the worst on the countdown. Bad Liar, therefore, turns orange.

I really couldn't care less about our #1 as long as it isn't Shawn Mendes's There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back. Our top 20 is really looking spectacular, with a few frustrating flaws.

So close to nobody in the blogging community likes Body Like A Back Road. This song is fake country, and a mix of pop/rap, but being neither at the same time. How did this jump 14 spots?

Strip That Down is growing on me slightly. I like Quavo's verse.

The only debut that jumped from last week was Overwhelming. Good Time Good Life, that's okay, but Stay Together should receive more recognition. Despacito should have reached #1 by now considering how long it has been out and popular.

Kissing Strangers leaving really is disappointing. It was never popular, sadly, but will be one of my favourite songs of the year. Break My Heart leaving is fine.

I really have very little so say nowadays in the countdown. So little is happening,

  1. Who voted for Body Like A Back Road? Deaf people? It's the equivalent of a sleepy karaoke man turning a DJ Mustard song into 'country'.

But I'm happy about your opinion on Radioactive, My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark, Dangerous Woman, New Romantics and Cool For the Summer.

A bit disappointed about Shut Up And Dance, E.T., What Makes You Beautiful, Cruise and See You Again, but that's just my opinion.

And again, congrats on being the first to post! 👍
